What was the date 2 weeks ago?

Solution

Saturday April 13, 2024

2 weeks ago from today was 13 Apr 2024, a Saturday. Week conversions under a month are not too complicated. We’re often okay with just counting weeks backwards from Saturday. However, we’re 17 days from the end of April, and being in the middle of of the month, looking back less than a week will keep us in April and we don’t need to worry about adjusting months or years..

How we calculated 2 weeks before today

All of our day calculators are measured and QA'd by our engineer. Read more about the Git process here. But here's how 2 weeks ago gets calculated on each visit:

  1. We started with date inputs: used current day of 27 Apr, then set the calculation - 2 weeks, and factored in the year 2024
  2. Noted your current time of year: 2 weeks in April will keep us in April and we don’t need to worry about adjusting months or years.
  3. Counted backwards weeks from current day: date - 27 Apr, factoring in the 17 days left in April to calculate Saturday April 13, 2024
  4. Did NOT factor in workdays: In this calculation, we kept weekend. See below for just workdays or the fiscal calendar

Tips when solving for April 13

  • Current date: 27 Apr
  • Day of the week: Saturday
  • New Date: Saturday April 13, 2024
  • New Date Day of the week: Saturday
  • April is the end of the quarter and the beginning of spring. It's also Phillies Opening Day, so plan according and take the week off work! (Go Phils)
  • Your date will be a weekend. Consider if you only want workdays in your calculation.

Ways to calculate 2 weeks ago

  1. Calculate it: Start with a time ago calculator. 2 weeks is easiest solved on a calculator. For ours, we've already factored in the 17 days in April + all number of days in each month and the number of days in . Simply add your weeks and choose the length of time, then click "calculate". This calculation does not factor in workdays or holidays (see below!).
  2. Use April's calendar: Begin by identifying 27 Apr on a calendar, note that it’s Saturday, and the total days in March (trust me, you’ll need this for smaller calculations) and days until last year (double trust me, you'll need this for larger calculations). From there, count backwards 2 times weeks by weeks, subtracting weeks from until your remainder of weeks is 0.
  3. Use excel: For more complex weeks calculations or if you h8 our site (kidding), I use Excel functions like =TODAY()-2 to get or =WORKDAY(TODAY()), -2, cell:cell) for working weeks.

Working weeks in 2 calendar weeks

2 weeks is Saturday April 13, 2024 or could be if you only want workdays. This calculation takes 2 weeks and only subtracts by the number of workdays in a week. Remember, removing the weekend from our calculation will drastically change our original Saturday April 13, 2024 date.
