What was the date 25 weeks ago?

Solution

Friday January 10, 2025

25 weeks ago from today was 10 Jan 2025, a Friday. We’re now subtracting quarters of the year. This means 25 weeks from 04 Jul changes fiscal calendars and could even push us into previous years. We’re currently in early part of July with 4 days left; this will bring us back to June or further. When I calculate backwards for larger weeks before today, I like to start by subtracting the days, then count backwards to find the correct weeks.

How we calculated 25 weeks before today

All of our day calculators are measured and QA'd by our engineer. Read more about the Git process here. But here's how 25 weeks ago gets calculated on each visit:

  1. We started with date inputs: used current day of 04 Jul, then set the calculation - 25 weeks, and factored in the year 2025
  2. Noted your current time of year: 25 weeks in July will bring us back to June or further.
  3. Counted backwards weeks from current day: date - 04 Jul, factoring in the 4 days left in July to calculate Friday January 10, 2025
  4. Did NOT factor in workdays: In this calculation, we kept weekend. See below for just workdays or the fiscal calendar

Tips when solving for January 10

  • Current date: 04 Jul
  • Day of the week: Friday
  • New Date: Friday January 10, 2025
  • New Date Day of the week: Friday
  • Counting back form January will put you close, if not passed, the previous year.
  • This calculation crosses at least one month. Remeber, this will change our day of the week.
  • Your date will be a weekend. Consider if you only want workdays in your calculation.

Ways to calculate 25 weeks ago

  1. Calculate it: Start with a time ago calculator. 25 weeks is easiest solved on a calculator. For ours, we've already factored in the 4 days in July + all number of days in each month and the number of days in . Simply add your weeks and choose the length of time, then click "calculate". This calculation does not factor in workdays or holidays (see below!).
  2. Use July's calendar: Begin by identifying 04 Jul on a calendar, note that it’s Friday, and the total days in June (trust me, you’ll need this for smaller calculations) and days until last year (double trust me, you'll need this for larger calculations). From there, count backwards 25 times weeks by weeks, subtracting weeks from until your remainder of weeks is 0.
  3. Use excel: For more complex weeks calculations or if you h8 our site (kidding), I use Excel functions like =TODAY()-25 to get or =WORKDAY(TODAY()), -25, cell:cell) for working weeks.

Working weeks in 25 calendar weeks

25 weeks is Friday January 10, 2025 or could be if you only want workdays. This calculation takes 25 weeks and only subtracts by the number of workdays in a week. Remember, removing the weekend from our calculation will drastically change our original Friday January 10, 2025 date.
