Springtime is the time of year where the sun peaks it head back out after a cold winter, animals bless the world with new life, and farmers begin planting the crops to feed the people.
From today, 2023-04-01 until Spring, there are 354 days. That means there are 50.57 weeks, 8496.0 hours, and 12.64 months until then. We use this calculation quite frequently on a calendar even if we don’t realize it. Countdown someone’s birthday, anniversary, or special date is important to order gifts on time! If Spring is special to you, do your future self a favor and set a calendar reminder for a day before and make it repeating. You’re welcome.

The season of Spring usually begins in the month of March and lasts until around mid-June and guides us through the shifting of the cold winter blizzards to the hot summer sun. Obviously one of the hallmarks of Springtime is Easter, especially as it combines with other Pagan holidays. As I have already talked about Easter let’s take a dive into some other Spring traditions. An interesting example of Spring celebrations is the Bosnian festival of Cimburijada. On this day the People of Bosnia join together for a feast of scrambled eggs that begins at the crack of dawn. Crowds of thousands gather in Zenica near the Bosnian river bringing their own pots and pans to scramble and eat as many eggs as they can. However, the meaning behind this festival is not too different to North American celebrations as they eat eggs due to them being symbolic of new life the same way Easter Eggs are.
Another spring celebration is Holi. This is an ancient Indian tradition that is also known as the festival of colour which marks the end of winter. This holiday is celebrated through outdoor parties, enjoying the return of the warmth, where people light bonfires and throw Gulal (colourful powders) into the air and at one another. Singing, dancing, and feasting are also huge parts of the celebrations with people eating huge meals that they prepare and cook together. Believe it or not this isn’t the only spring festival that involves throwing things at one another and into the air. In Thailand, the Songkran festival marks the Thai New Year and to celebrate people have huge water fights in the streets. The water is an important symbol during this celebration as it symbolises washing away the previous year and the excitement for the returning rainfall.
What I can conclude from looking into these different cultures and traditions from across the world is that there is one thing we all have in common and that is Spring marks new beginnings. Whether that be new life, a new year, or a new rainy season we all have something new to look forward to in this special time of year.

There are 252 until Spring.
In the business world, time until a certain date is complete different. Ten business days is two calendar weeks and one month is only twenty days of production. This changes how much time a corporation working off the traditional 9-5 system of time calculation can actually spend on projects or work. This can add a layer of complexity onto time calculations.
An oversimplification of calculating business days until Spring is counting the number of total days 354 and subtracting the total number of weekends.
